Car reveal days
As we get closer to the 3 day testing in Bahrain on February 21st, we take a look at which teams will be revealing their 2024 cars and which teams are still leaving us waiting.
First to give a date for their reveal were
Scuderia Ferrari. They will unveil the follow up to the SF-23, codename 676, on
13th February. The location is as yet unknown but is likely to be their
headquarters in Maranello. After a few problems with the SF-23 and finishing
3rd in the constructors championship, Fred Vasseur has said the components will
be “95% different” and Carlos Sainz has commented how the car is already
behaving “differently” in early simulator runs.
Next up was Williams and Stake F1 (formally
Alfa Romeo) who announced that their cars will both be revealed in UK based
ceremonies on February 5th. Stake, who recently launched their new identity
with a big social media campaign, will have their ceremony in London with the
C44 being their first car launched in Britain. The livery is expected to be
neon green and black after hints on Instagram this week.
Williams have come out with no other details
other than the date.
Aston Martin have been the latest to give a
date for the unveiling of their AMR24. The car will be debuted at Silverstone
on 12th February. Fernando Alonso has been quoted as saying he hopes to improve
on the “straight line speed” in the car this season and more consistency.
Of the teams who have yet to confirm a date
not much has come from the Red Bull camp. Alpha Tauri will be having a name
change which hasn't been confirmed either, with rumours circulating about the
name “Racing Bulls”.
Mercedes and Mclaren are rumoured to be
unveiling their machines on the 14th February and Alpine rumoured to be the
7th. No news on Haas as yet.
Mercedes have said the W15 will be “very
different” to the W14, with James Allison taking the role of Technical
Director.
